Here's one that will work for you, amazingly fast, too. My friend Katy told me to sip the tiniest amount(about a teaspoon) of regular mouthwash and swallow it. The small amount will not hurt your tummy and what it does is instantly kill all the bacteria on your throat lining. All ther way down, too. Is that simple and amazing, or what? You probably are British? Well, cheers! Actually nothing works quite as well as a very large mug of very hot English Breakfast tea to nail that awful feeling you described. I would use some honey in it and put my feet up and toss a light blanket over my lap and really get into getting well again. Tea does it every time because it relaxes you like having good parents. Best to you always, - C.

I think that it is amazing that in this day and age the oldest remedies are the best. Take 1 tablespoon of Honey and a teaspoon of vinegar mix in a glass of boiling water and wait until cooled enough to drink. This used to be an old witches brew but is now actually sold off the shelf as Honeygar.

You can minimise the risk of catching it by topping up you immune system with vitamine C and other supplements you can find in Health stores but there is still a good chance you will catch it anyway as the virus tend to mutate from strengh to strengh as he goes along. To make you feel better, lots of fluids, hot soups, in bed for a couple of days. Every morning, when you wake up, change you bed and aerate you room.

Eat shed loads of vit C, the same old, same old, but it works. A cough will last for up to 10 days though. But vit C is the best thing. Rest and wrap up warm if it's cold where you live.

The fastest and cost free way to cure a common cough and cold to boil all hot spices that you store in your kitchen for quick relief. Take 5 grains of black pepper, 2 clove flakes, small piece of cinnamon stick, 7 basil leaves and a piece of ginger and boil them together with 200 ml water. Dink this boiled mixture three times a day to get rid of your cough. Inhale steam three times a day and drink hot water. Avoid cold drinks, icecream, sour fruits, yoghurt and buttermilk. Milk should be taken adding a tea spoon of turmeric powder boiled together before drinking. Avoid air-conditioned spaces and cover your body with warm clothes during winter. Stop eating sugar and replace it with sugar free tablets until one recovers from the disorder. Also one must try to sneeze by tickling nostrils with the help of tooth pick or clean paper roll to remove excess cough from the head to avoid headache. Remover all tooth brushes from the Bath Room so that the cockroaches do not get chance to put their mouth on them during night to spread the disease among other members in the family and keep them separately in bed room or other dry place in the house. Change your toothbrush every after three months and brush your teeth and clean your tongue without fail before going to bed at night. Correct your bowel movements if you are constipated for the mucus to pass in stool and it is most important in all kinds of diseases and disorders to correct constipation in the first place. Take care and be in good health.

plenty of hot drinks (no milk) wrap up well when you go to bed.
If the symtoms persist, get in touch with your GP - it may well be the flu or bronchitis and not the cold.
