The parts are much more expensive, partly due to export tariffs from Germany. Partly due to better materials, partly to higher labor rates on assembling those parts.
Also, they can charge more because they claim to have more repair "expertise" and training.
Don't worry, the US manufacturers have noticed this and are raising their repair costs to match the Europeans.

Most foreign car parts are much more expensive especially European cars. The government allows European and Japanese cars into America with no extra fees. American cars sold over seas are hit with high taxes, fees and penalty's. That's why it is so cheap to by foreign cars in America. Mechanics make money by boosting the cost of part and services. Go to a Ford, Chrysler or GM car dealer !Buy an American car ! help keep U.S. jobs !
