ok you ask for the name of the parts "IN" the engine. Those would be..crankshaft...connecting rods and bearings. Main bearings. cam bearings. Cam shaft. pistons and piston rings. That is all that is "in" the engine...everything else is extra..such as timing chain and gears heads and so on...the basic engine block only has those components listed above
This is normally referred to as a "short block"

The basic part of the engine is the block, everything else fits into or on the block. The crankshaft, pistons and rings, rods, camshaft, timing chain or belt, lifters, rocker arms, valves, valve springs, water pump, oil pump, exhaust and intake manifolds, and head all go into or on the block. Additionally, there are numerous covers - valve, camshaft, timing, - that also go on the block.

well, there is the "thing-a-ma-jig" the "watch-a-ma-callit" several "doohickies" a couple of "thingamabobs" at least 4 "whatzits" a "go faster", a "slow downer" and an "ohshitter" for when things really go wrong......ah and some oil
