Hi, I am doing some renovations on my 1 bathroom condo and need some advice.

Currently I have a bathtub but I am thinking of getting rid of the tub and installing a high end standing shower unit. As such, no more baths (haven't taken one of those in years).

I am worried about resale value. Will the value of my place be worth more with a tub? Does it matter?

Thanks in advance

Oh yes, I live in Calgary, AB, Canada if that makes a difference. And my place is a 1 Bdm and about 800 sq ft.

For whatever reason a tub is needed for your bath to be counted as a full, just a shower and its 3/4 bath.

For the resale value, I'd keep the tub. You can still upgrade the shower portion with a rain head, other sprays and such.

I'm thinking you should get a tub because maybe someday you just want to relax in hot water........but you can also include a shower with it to so there could be 2 in 1 :) trust me you will get tired of always standing.

If you only have the one bathroom, I would leave a bath in. You may turn off future buyers if there is only a shower.

My seventh grade instructor instructed me, taking a bath, your in simple terms washing your self with grimy water. taking a bath is a relentless bypass of sparkling water. yet blah blah blah, help shop the ecosystem by potential of flowing much less water... NOO!! lol a fabulous warm upward push up bathe any day!
