Okay! I'm embarrassed to ask but here it goes: I'm not sure how to round this, so I can proceed with the emp. formula. I'm thinking 2.1 or just 2; however I'm not positive. Please help!!

I am guessing that you are calculating the subscript for this formula. If you are, the answer would be 2. Subscripts have to be whole numbers.

Since you're trying to find the empirical formula, you're going to need a whole number so that will be rounded to just 2.

2.1 is incorrect. what's wrong with 1.99 do significant numbers come into play here.

2 could be correct but if all those fractions are significant maybe 1.98.
