I know that alphas in hyena families are female, lionesses are the hunters in lion packs, praying mantis and black widow females kill the males after mating. I want to know if there is anywhere else you see this superiority or dominance by females in the animal kingdom? Please, nothing about how human women are obviously stronger/bossier/etc. or weaker/subservient/etc. Didn't know where else to post this.

Its been pointed out that black widows and praying mantis are, in fact, insects. I already knew this, but didn't think of it when I said "animals." Sorry about that. I should say "in all creatures, no matter the species." So... mammals, insects, birds, what have you...
