I know that alphas in hyena families are female, lionesses are the hunters in lion packs, praying mantis and black widow females kill the males after mating. I want to know if there is anywhere else you see this superiority or dominance by females in the animal kingdom? Please, nothing about how human women are obviously stronger/bossier/etc. or weaker/subservient/etc. Didn't know where else to post this.

Its been pointed out that black widows and praying mantis are, in fact, insects. I already knew this, but didn't think of it when I said "animals." Sorry about that. I should say "in all creatures, no matter the species." So... mammals, insects, birds, what have you...

Bonobo chimps. The females of the group bond through various means, including sexual play. Whenever one of the males does anything the females don't like, including harrassing one of them, the females all gang up and beat him up.

Elephant herds are led by a matriarch. Bulls may hang near a herd, but are not really a part of it except for breeding once they reach puberty and leave home.

I don't think there's any question of superiority or dominance, but female eagles are larger than males. They both raise the young.

I think you'll find that spiders are insects and not animals. So you need to discount them and Praying mantis from your statement.
Good luck finding other examples.
