My goodness there's a lot of phobia here. I've been a nature nut since I was a little girl and still am decades later. I pick up the bigger bugs and feed them to my tarantula or my lizard. Smaller bugs and spiders are escorted out of the house and set free. We have a sonic pest repeller to keep the mice out since they do make a mess and get in the dog and cat food. I have a tankful of those giant hissing cockroaches - they are really cool bugs and can live off table scraps - have have giant millipedes (they are about 7 inches long) in a terrarium - they are vegetarians as well and are really cool low maintenance pets.
I pick up snakes and frogs to look at them and then turn them loose.
About the only crawly critters I don't have much use for are ticks and flies and their maggots (though they make great fish food) Remember all creatures have a place in the ecosystem.

Well, I don't know how this got on the "Beauty and Style " message board but......I will answer anyway!!!!
I yank my feet up at the first sign of a bug on the floor, spider on the floor, mouse in the house, or snake in the ground!!!!!!!!!!! ...even if I have to pull my knees up as high as I can as I'm running 10 feet away..and screaming.....this is a sight.....It's a naural reaction....I am 33 years old, and I am morbidly afraid of anything that crawls fast, slithers, runs across my foot, and so I scream as a result!!!!!!!!! My heart pounds...literally...in my chest and I have to sit down and recover from the fear.....it's how I am..embarrasses me... but I'll never change....COULD NEVER GO ON "FEAR FACTOR" for a measly $50,000.00.........I'd pass out.

because there are so girls who would screame at a flower with a butterfly on it. do you get it girls can go to the way dramatic point. an i dont know maybe they tnink theres a freak about to back there nail!
