If any organ of your body is going to have something wrong with it, the thyroid is it!
OVER active and UNDER active thyroids can have some unpleasant symptoms, but treatment is pretty straightforward, and has a reliable, Loooooonnnnnnggggg history of success.
(Even thyroid cancer is perhaps the best cancer to have, because once treated, it doesn't spread to other parts of the body.)

I had the same thing. I had thyroid cancer. It was treated very effectively and I am living normally.

I was worried. When your doctor tells you something is wrong with you, you are always going to worry. I can easily say not to worry, but you will worry anyway!

If you hear that you have cancer, it sounds really bad! But in fact, thyroid cancer is the most treatable because it generally stays in the thryoid and doesn't spread to other parts of the body. You will probably need surgery to remove it and take a tiny pill each day for the rest of your life. But, it is really no biggie compared to breast cancer or lung cancer.

Good luck! I totally understand what you are going through. It's ok to worry, just don't let it consume your life. Why worry so much over something you cannot control? Just be glad you found the lump when you did. :)

I have a friend that had a thyroid problem. She went on meds and after a while they found a medicine that neutralized her hormones/thyroid activity. She's still a bit overweight but she's doing fine and feels better than ever. I wouldn't be worried, honestly. I mean, I know it's your health so I would be concerned too but I wouldn't worry about it. The doc does have to ask those questions with any patient that has your problem. Good luck and God bless!
