Seriously, those people like to feel important. People who know the most are probably those that say the least. Also old people...they know a lot too.

For those of us that really do know almost everything it is usually our one great gift to society. (My typing however is horrendous.)

For the idiots out there that are more like Cliff Claiborne (mailman on CHEERS) it is to feel better about themselves. They know something you don't know. This gives them a feeling of superiority over others. The internal reason is a lack of self confidence. Low self esteem.
