YES....dance is a sport, not matter what other people say.
we do just about as much as football players do. it may not seem like it, but we do. we have practice, stretch, and have injures. soemtimes dancers are worse off then other athletes because we dont take care of ourself as much as we should. we get an injury and we just put it off because we care so much about what we do.

cheerleading isn't usually funded....the girls pay. Dance is considered a sport in many ways. A lot of high schools have dance teams.

Dancing should get the right funding, like all other arts at school (music, etc)
that having been said, no it is NOT a sport (I don't even consider BASEBALL a "sport")

NO! Dance can at best be considered an art, and only if you're any good. For the love of sanity, we need to start subtracting these so called "sports," not adding to them! Funding, okay, but don't make it something it's not!

All my teachers consider it a sport. When my Social Studies teacher was teaching us, "Cultural Elements," she said that yes, dance could be a sport too.
Every single one of my gym teachers in the past, and the one I have now, consider dance a sport.

omg completely! dancers work SO hard to get into good productions and things. ive done dance for so long and ive worked really hard to be where i am. and any activity thats keeps you moving and exercising really is a sport. and thats what you do in dancing. especially ballet! they work very hard.

Yes it's defiantly a sport. I think they should start introducing it into school, why not it's a big part of life these days.

It could only be a sport if you somehow were able to add defense.
