how can i dry buckeye nuts?

i want to craft with buckeye nuts, but don't know how to dry them for use

Strip your Ohio guy's clothes off and lay him outside in the sun for about 2 weeks....... those nuts will wrinkle up like prunes and you can make them into earrings and wear them.

If you oil them, they will dry to a nice smooth finish, with none of the air-gaps between the shell and the kernel that you'll find in dried chestnuts.
