You should tell her that these types of situations brings the best of friends to enemies and ask her if that's what she wants with your friendship. Friends should never compete for a guy. The only one to lose is the friendship. It's simply not worth it.

i would say that you need to do some thinking...whats more important...a boyfriend for a couple months (tops) or a friend for a lifetime? if you do truly like him approach him and casually ask about who he likes. if its a different person entirely, you have nothing to worry about!!
