it may have a default wep key, look for a sticker on the back or bottom, if not, you can access the web interface of the router and see it there.

The WEP key is a security feature that someone has set. by default they are not set with a WEP key.

if the router is yours there is a reset button on the back of the router push it in for 30 seconds and release and that should do away with the curent WEP key with any other settings in the router.

if you want to try to configure it yourself enter this address into your browser http://192.168.1.0 or http://192.168.0.1 you should see a login screen leave the login blank for the password put in admin.

again only do this if you are the owner of the router

you can find this and more info about your model router at

The WEP key can be set by the administrator, so it could be anything.

Try this,

https://www.embarq.com/2788/User_Guides/linksysgwep.pdf#search=%22%22Linksys%20WEP%22%22

This applies to the WRT54G. It has nothing to do with what OpSys you are using!

Have fun but be safe!
