The previous answers discussed the length of the auction; as they said, this can be from a single day to 10 days.
If you are asking about how far in advance you can input the listing, that is a different question. You can usually schedule an auction to turn on a week or so in advance of the time you input the information.
I usually schedule my auctions to end during the weekend evenings, about 10 pm, to try and maximize the auction activity.

Depends, auctions default to a posting of 7 days, if you don't choose another option. You can choose from 3, 5 or 7 days. Some options are limited users with a positive feedback of 10 or more. There is an extra fee for the 10 day option.

the usuall auction length is 7 days but there is an option to run it for 3 days or you can run it for longer but it cost more? so its up to you.
