It does. It's called BrightScreen or BrightView and it does indeed have it. It is also known as a "glossy" display.

Poke in a word. look at the dv5157eu by HP also at Comet - more or less the same - but cheaper. I'm using that now. big drawback - rubbish software all preinstalled and the 100 gig HDD is partitioned and about 10 gig is used as a backup to take it back to the state the got it in in theory. No spell checker because Works 8 is rubbish. Watch that cheap version they offer with that laptop - doesn't appear to be the one that includes FrontPage. Microsoft would prefer us not to have web sites or spell checkers for that matter! The Anti-virus included is probably a trial. The only thing on mine that wasn't a trial was XP, Works 8, an old version of Roxio CD/DVD creator - I just replaced. Rip off. But the hardware itself is excellent for the money around £700 - it's good. 1 gig of memory, wireless, 100 gig HDD partitioned, 6 in 1 card reader, DVD rewriter. It has a weird HP player for music and DVD with a remote control that fits in the side. Not that handy really. But OK if you watch a lot of DVD. I had a DVB stick - and watch TV in bed - great picture of a tiny aerial. Good laptops - shame about the preinstalled crap. If you do mutual points - go through them and that will get you £10 worth of points - I know I'm a mean sod! lol

Yes, you cna poke it. When you get it at first, it won't be as easy to poke, but after use and the coating expanding from the heat of the lcd, it will be very easy to to poke at it.
