Call the animal control officer.
Or, the Dog Catcher as its called in some places.
Or, wrap it up in plastic bags and put it in the garbage! They all get dumped in the landfills anyways.
I wish you well..

Honestly, if you let nature takes it's course, the carcass will be pretty much gone in 3-4 days. We had the same thing happen and tried calling the local government agencies for dealing with it. It was a weekend too, like this. Betwen the local wild life and the turkey buzzards, there was nothing left but a few bones and a little hide within three days...long before the authorities got around to doing anything about it.

Call your family and friends and invite them over for summer sausage and venison steaks... okay, if this is serious, I suggest last resort calling the police. It's a low totem poll emergency, but they can surely advise you of the appropriate agencies to respond.
If Firemen can respond to cats up an electic pole, then surely Officers can respond to deer carcasses. Stay away from the windows, seems the deer might have been shot nearby and it's chosen your lawn to retire upon.
Let us know how you handled it, this is quite an interesting, no everyday situation. Good luck!

Well, its highly unlikely that i would find a deer carcass in my back yard,as i am in Western Australia, and it would be more likely to be a kangaroo, which if it was still reasonably fresh i would cut it up for pet food ,and bury the rest.

in the county that we live in ,if it is on your private property you will have to dispose of it the best way you can. If you have animal control where you live you might try and call them.
