you probably have spyware, get these and run one at a time, they are all free.
Antiviral. (free)

Don't use two antiviral products together as they may be incompatible. If your Antiviral trial has run out, then remove product from your computer and get the AVG installed.

It could be adware or spyware, you need to install a spyware protections (Install spyware from yahoo site) by downloading the new tool bar, it will give you the new spyware protections that you need.. after you install it, run it so that it can get rid of all that junk.. here is another FREE adware removel site. http://www.ad-Aware.com

It may depend on what site you are on. I reccomend downloadin Mccafee site advisor, as they can give you great info about a site before you visit it. It is free also.
In order to help more specificaly, could you tell me what browser you are using, what the site is, and if you currently have popup controld disabled?

install a pop up blocker...get the yahoo free pop-up blocker

just install it and click on the option to block pop ups once you get the toolbar...
pop-ups can cause your computer to freeze especially when they keep continuously popping up...so install protection soon! recommend you get some other virus protection too...

you most likely have spyware/adware on your computer. download a free spyware removal tool. spybot and adaware are 2 that are free. install one and scan your pc, it will remove them. you can also download the yahoo toolbar which had a popup blocker.
