Just intrigued by gay stereotypes that extend beyond limp handshakes and bottle blonde hair - are there things other than the bleeding obvious ie same sex attraction that define 'gayness'?

"Gay" as an identity means whatever you want it to mean. No one has a right to sincerely try to tell you that you're somehow less gay than them for any reason (aside from the aforementioned obvious).
The club queens think they're prettier and therefore better and more "gay" than the "straight-acting" ::cringe:: bears, who think they're better and more representative of "gay" than the nelly stereotypical club queens. And there's a lot more common "sublabels" that I didn't get into, none of which you have to fit yourself into to be gay.

Just like people use the stupid term "acting Black"-I agree it is just as stupid for you to believe someone is "acting gay"...Unfortunately quite a few flamboyant homosexuals have conformed to these stereotypes making it harder for those who act 'normal'-in a matter of speaking...I have met the finest, most masculine, gangsta brothas, and some of the sweetest, prettiest, most feminine females that were gay...any (more) questions?

Of course not.
Everyone thinks I'm straight because I'm me instead of a stereotype, though. :P

No you don't need to be a queen in order to be gay.

Being gay is just your sexual preferences, not your character or behavior.
