An asteroid 10 kilometers in diameter, comparable to the one that caused the extinction of the dinosaurs, would have a mass of 1.5 x 10^15 kilograms. If it hit the earth a grazing blow on the equator, it could change the earth's rotation by about 1/20,000,000, or change the length of the day by about .004 seconds.

So, if a worldwide catastrophe like that won't effect the earth rotation much, I doubt if some spinning tires would do much, even if we're talking about a lot of spinning tires. All the cars in the world melted down would not equal the size of a 10 kilometer ateroid, and there wouldn't even be much high velocity or impact.

Wowza, that's scary. magnificent challenge to be alive isn't it :) once In a life-time - speaking Heads BQ: Yeah, i develop into sitting in this eating position right here in Beijing. And my relations and that i have been sitting suitable next to the window and the individuals behind our table are smoking like 5 cigarettes. So we keen to modify tables and moved into the again of the eating position. Then, about 10-15 minutes later, this gang comes up in the front of the eating position and throws timber stakes about a foot in length and stones on the window, shattering them. If we were nevertheless sitting in our previous table, shall we've been impaled :O
