Chainsaw: It is people like me who love American and don't want it to be ran like China, Iran and the other countries people mentioned we should be more like.
We USED to beleive in freedom, justice and liberty for all!
Somehow we accepted that innocence until proven guilty is somehow UnAmerican.

IT does brother.. we've just got a corporate media in this country that conveys big brothers message to the exclusion of all else.. it is very difficult to find an American News outlet willing t6o defy Bush Co. Policy on this one. They would rather debate the legitimacy of the Geneva convention then acknowledge that we are in clear violation of it ? scary considering it is a very sane principle.. kind of makes you wonder who's running the show doesn't it ?

You have no idea what torture is. Sleep deprivation, making them cold, etc. is not torture. Stop drinking the kool aid. It makes you look really stupid.
We must do whatever is needed to stop terrorists from attacking us. Beating them is not the most effective way, but I would approve of it if it saves even 1 American.
It is people like you who would get all of us killed if you ever got into power.

What makes you think any truthful information will be gotten? The world does perceive it as barbaric, only the Bush people seem to think otherwise. Bush is the one who acts as if he has no compassion for anyone. I do not think the American people has seen any true compassion from Bush, only acting.

Did anyone bother to ask Nick Berg if torture was perceived as barbaric?

I support torture for the means of extracting information to prevent attacks on American soil, soldieries and civilians.
Torturing just because is definitely wrong. But then again so is cutting off heads of innocent "infidels". So who should be looked at more with a skew eye, torturers or murders?

The world can think what it wants, the world isn't set forth with the objective of saving innocent American lives. If an enemy combatant knows some info that will save innocent lives if discovered... I don't see a thing wrong with torturing one man, who want to cut our heads off, to save the innocent civilians.

the world does. if you're talking about populations.
governments are seperate entities, it's beginning to appear.
innocent until proven guilty is pretty rare in this world.
these evil people will put your execution up on the internet, if it was up to them. is that o.k.?
what you call torture is nowhere near.........

It is a lessor of two evils in many circumstances.
Do you understand what that means? Noone likes torture, but if it is necessary to save thousands of innocent lives, then so be it.
you liberals have a hard time with concepts like that, don't you?

You fight fire with fire. The wine babbies that cry about mistreating the enemy need to have a loved ones head cut off on video, might understand then.
