Seattle is a relatively safe city. However, some neighborhoods are safer than others. I'm a single woman and I live in the Green Lake neighborhood. Other neighborhoods that I'd consider living in would be Lower Queen Anne, Queen Anne, Ballard, Magnolia, Greenwood, Phinney Ridge, Wallingford, Meridian, Roosevelt, Ravenna...most of North Seattle, south of 105th, excluding anything too close to Aurora Ave or Lake City Way (as already discussed).
As for other areas of town, I think most of West Seattle is safe, but I'd probably stay north of Alaska Junction.
I would avoid living downtown, Capitol Hill, and anywhere southwest of downtown (First Hill, Columbia City, along Rainier Ave).
Best of luck to you!!

north Seattle os good as long as you steer clear of Aurora and Lake City way.Really this depends on what you consider safe. You could be on Capital hill and feel safe or downtown and feel safe. I wouldn't want my wife hanging out alone in any of the places that I've mentioned so far, but there are plenty of single women at all of those and they appear to feel safe. The Greenlake area is very nice and seems to be be very safe as well. However, you could have problems anywhere if you are not smart about where you are and what you are doing.

North areas of the city of Leeds, England Great people, nice areas, lots of parks for dogs Unfortunately Europe's largest city without a metro or light rail system UK's 3rd biggest city after London and Birmingham UK's favourite city and massive opportunities for financial jobs UK's primary centre for shopping (also the UK's sexiest city so if you're single and looking it may be an option)

Don't let them scare you - Seattle is a very safe city. When I was single, I lived in First Hill, the Central District and Belltown. You just have to remember to use street smarts.

Magnolia is good if you have a car. Queen Anne is
better if you don't.
