For some reason whenever I use retinoids my face really breaks out bad after about 8 weeks of use and never gets better, until I stop using it. I'm using Retin-A Micro .1% in combination with Benzaclin. Does anyone else have this problem with retinoids?

I used retin-a when I was a teen, it was awful! my face got all scaly and I broke out worse!! I stopped using it and just went with an over the counter cream, It worked better and didn't kill my face.

Well, Benzaclin has benzoyl peroxide in it my friend. Benzoyl- peroxide neutralizes the effect of the main ingredient in Retin-A Micro. You must use them every other night (i.e. apply Retin-A tonight and tomorrow night use the Benzeclin). Although I'm not doctor or specialist, just check with your dermatologist. Good luck.

Use something else with retinol in it. If you still have a problem - stop bloody using it!
