Oh Sugah! Why DO you ask such dreadful questions? Have you been drinking that awful wine your gay husband buys again? Oh and HOW IS the other Mr. Tockers anyway? I do declare that man was the very shadow of death the last time he stumbled his way over for a visit. Gave me a TERRIBLE case of the vapors, he did.
Oh heavens me....please DO sit down. You must be awfully tired from driving all day in that cramped little import of yours. It reminds me of the coffin your Aunt Eunice was burried in.

If that is what I am receiveing, then let the aggression continue. 99.99% of the people I have met here in the South have been very genuine and quite polite. Southern Hospitality is not to be knocked.

All I know is that I am a Northern boy and the sign on the highway is "Hoosier hospitality is no accident". I do favor hospitality and being offered some food repeatedly even if I have no intentions of eating :)

Some of it sure is- the best one I heard was about how Southern women say Bless His/Her Soul right after they insult someone, as in, "It was amazing the head of hair that baby of hers had, it being born only six months after the wedding, bless her soul."

You could say that, but it's not really the truth. Southern hospilaty's goal just wants to ensure that the guest is as comfortable and pleasant as possible, by whatever means necessary.

Yes.....ever so annoying, it's just their attempt to intrude upon you by appearing to be polite, interested or, make conversation.
Dull minds looking to latch on to someone or something more interesting than themselves.
