I really wish you would stop posting questions on here Mr Bush! Don't you have a country to run (into the ground)...
Besides which Britain consists of more than one country so it wouldn't just be the 51st state but a few others too.
Also we speak English here and the language barrier would be a problem.
I think if you were to put it to a vote here you would be able to hear the shouts of 'NO!' all the way to the USA.
My next question is going to be:
Why do idiots persist in advertising the fact that they are?

I do not think that Britain should be the 51st state of America. Britain and America are just two totally different places. Plus I don't think that the queen of England would like it that much.

Just because the US and UK are allies does not mean we are one country. Early Americans fled from the UK and other parts of Europe to make a new home for themselves eventually creating a democracy and declaring independence on the 4th of July, 1776. Perhaps read the Declaration of Independence some time. Neither Americans nor the English should ever consider this a viable proposal. Just because we speak a similar language does not mean we do not have cultural differences.

Well as an Englishman who lives in Europe and seeing the absolute ****-up they are making of the grand European experiment, Britain will have to decide if they want a single European currency or something else. Yes OK England, N. Ireland, Scotland and Wales (Britain is now debunked because of the lovely New Labour ideals) are doing alright at the moment by itself, but my friends our Imperial days are long gone and we will all have to make a decision, Europe (French, Germans, Italians Eastern Europe Etc.) or America. I bet the Americans would accept a Constitutional monarchy quite Happily and welcome us with open arms. The French and Germans would probably try to figure out in which way best to screw us over ( knowing them as I do) But that is just my opinion. I mean with American resources and our know how, it would be quite a good combination.

Okay what kind of a question is that?
1. Britain is an independent country with a MONARCHY.
2. America is fine the way it is I honestly don't think we need anymore land seriously be happy with what we have.
3.This is about as bad as asking if Canada would become the 52nd state of America just because it's next to us.
AND FOR SOME PEOPLE OUT THERE NOT ALL AMERICANS ARE IDIOTS STOP GROUPING US AS A WHOLE MAJORITY OF IDIOTS JUST BECAUSE OF A FEW PEOPLE DANG IT, NOT ONLY THAT AMERICA IS NOT THE ONLY PLACE WITH IDIOTS IN THE WORLD GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD!

Because...people in the UK would not ..and I stress NOT be associated with the crazy president you have elected...he would probably crash a plane into Buckingham Palace. And identify the 'terrorists' seconds later. Even though the plane would no doubt vaporize as a result of the burning jet fuel and the palace would fall at a free fall speed into it's own footprint ....with the debris causing St james' Park to be punched deep into the ground leaving a big black hole. You couldn't make it up.

There is a possibly way to carry this off. Make the US a protectorate of Bermuda, and if they prove that the can mesh with UK culture then, then I can see where it could be pulled off, You could accept the flag of Hawaii as it containspart of both your current flags. Of course Jerry Falwell and capital punishment will have to go. However let's wait until Tony Blair is gone first, which will be pretty soon. And do check with HM cousin Betty. She does so hate surprises. ttfn...Moi in the colony.
