I start with the person's name... (ie: Tom!!!) I love caller ID! LOL
btw: way back when, a friend of mine answered the phone "house of the lord, virgin mary speaking". there was a pause on the other end of the line and then; "this is Father Boyd, is your mother home?"
she never did that again! LOL

I don't since it never says anything to me. Do phones talk to you? There must be something wrong with you. I think you really don't have a phone & just go around talking to the remote control. Now that makes sense.

Depends on who's calling. If it's a telemarketer, I like to make up something funny, like, "City Sewage - Where would you be without us?" or "Thanks for calling WCAU - you're ON THE AIR!"
