Keep your eye on the goal and don't give up!! Don't let anyone discourage you from doing what you want to do. It's your life to live, not theirs. Study hard, but have fun, too!! Good luck!

Um...good luck? Seriously though, just study up, look for schools with a good record of engineering and don't feel bad if you decide to change your mind after you get to college. The average students changes majors 3 times during college.

You'll need a very good math foundation. So work hard to fully understand. And I'll reinforce what quickblur said about changing majors. I started in physics, got a BS but I saw that to go higher in physics would strain my math skills. So I got my MS in electrical engineering. I don't regret taking that path - it worked for me.

It is a fun and challenging road that lies ahead of you. You should also start to think about what kind of work you want to do after college.
