First off, I am from there so I am very familiar with it. Something did happen, there was a crash of some kind, no one disputes that. The government said it was a weather balloon, then said it was some type of secret aircraft, and now it is back to some type of high-tech weather equipment. Obviously you can see they have lied at least a couple of times, so we may never know what actually happened.

After World War II, this area of New Mexico was a top secret area to test new military aircraft. One of the experimental planes went badly awry and crashed in full view of civilians. As a military officer, how to explain this? What the hell, tell everyone it was aliens.

In June, 1974, I stopped to buy gasoline in Roswell, NM. My mother was with me. It was a really nice day. I got back in the car and we headed toward Texas.

How did you know about this? Who told you? You better not be following me!

its a place that attracts UFO enthusiasts, althought nothing happened there. It is porbably because there's a secret air force base there that conducts experiments using flying vehicles that aren't familiar to the public just yet.
