My daughter is looking for some career clothes for her birthday. I typically shop for her at Gap or Banana Republic, but didn't see anything that looked stylish enought. Suggestions. She needs dresses, suits, skirts, pant suits, etc.

You're in luck!
This season is all about the chic and sophisticated look. Even if she's 25, you can still shop at some juniors stores.
Some mall stores like Forever XXI and Charlotte Russe have a lot of casual clothing, but if you look, they also have great refined and classy pieces.
And if all else fails, you could always shop online or on a home shopping network (they feature clothing pretty often).
Good luck, and happy birthday to your daughter =)

I recently became an Office Manager after working clothing retail for 11 years. I am 29 years old. I have found both fashionable and affordable things at: Express, The Limited, Rave, Hot Topic, NY & Co, and Charlotte Russe.
I suggest giving her some gift cards for a mall and let her pick them out herself. Or make it a Mother/Daughter day.

Good luck Hon!

I love Banana Republic also but their clothes can sometimes age you. My favorite clothing store is Jcrew. This clothing is about the same price and quality as Banana Republic and looks good on just about everyone...I would strongly suggest their tapered jackets and adorable shoes. http://www.jcrew.com

good luck!

i like jcpennys or mervyns for that kind of stuff. depends on how professional she needs to be. i also like marshalls and ross for cheaper, sometimes more funky things. and watch labels for dry clean only, that stuff is a pain in the rear. get her classy clothes that aren't too trendy, those will last a long time. then she can change it up with broaches, scarves or handbags throughout the seasons.

Dress Barn, Casual Corner, DIllards, Macy's, JCPenny's...all those places have respectable clothes for a woman.
