Good observation. I make the effort to excercise my right to vote every chance I am given and cannot understand why many others don't. Perhaps this is why so many are unsatisfied with their leaders. Less griping and more voting please...

People don't vote for many reasons
1) The voting times are inconveniant
2) The weather sucks
3) The race looks like its going to be an easy win for one of the two candidates and they think their vote won't make much of a difference
4) People have lives and they are too busy complaining about stuff and doing their jobs and so on to go vote

Part of it is because people no longer believe their vote counts any more especially since the last 2 presidential elections Also the candidates for local elections run largely unopposed So people figure Why even bother due to the lack of opposing candidates

I think we take the right to vote for granted. If it was taken away from us, you can bet that there would be an uproar.
I think a lot of people have the opinion that their vote doesn't really matter, it's just one vote. But if no one voted, then there could be no winner of elections. So everyone's vote does count.
I try to vote in the primaries and I always (well, since I turned 18) vote in the elections that follow.

I guess that if a candidate came along with some needed reform and a goal to start correcting things that are bringing USA & our moral down he'd get votes. Usually it's the lesser of two evils and maybe no one else can compete.

Many people don't think their votes could but given the last couple presidential elections that's easily prove wrong. The lowest percentage of nonvoters are young adults, many of who have not developed a sense of civic responsibility yet.

Despair that the choices of the two major parties are in league with each other.
Despair that an honest man may never run again.
Despair that the electorate is not in control.

Fluoridated water has the psychological effect of indifference and apathy, also many of our leaders behaving lawlessly has caused many of us to feel disenfranchised.
