how to clean a auto radiator?

i had a blown gasket and oil had gotten in the radiator and now the water is not circulating. i have even removed the therostat.

If you have the thermostat out, and ther is still no circulation, you have another problem, like perhaps a failed water pump, that allowed the engine to get so hot that you blew a head gasket.
With the radiator cap off, and the engine idling, look into the top of the radiator and "goose" the engine. If you do not see coolant surging when you do this, start checking things out.

As for cleaning the oil out of the system, what we have done for years is to use some CASCADE dishwasher soap (1/4 cup) with the thermostat out. Run it until well warmed up and then for another 5 minutes, drain and repeat until the system looks clean and oil free.
After you are done, replace the thermostat with a NEW one, and keep the range somewhere around 195 degrees. This is what is best for the engine and what the computer expects to see.
There are products on the market that will do the job, but unless you follow the instructions TO THE LETTER, you run the risk of causing damage to the cooling system.

you need to drain the rad and then fill 7/8 full ad rad flush then start the car and run it for about 20 min. at idle. then turn of car and drain remove upper an lower hoses. take a garden hose flush the rad again.then flush out engine block the reassble.
