At this point in time, yes. There are 40-45 million working poor with no health ins.in the US. God only knows how many homeless, or people going to bed hungry. Pollution is out of control . I suggest putting 'Space Programns on hold' Get this war thing over and clean up the nation first. There is no big "Space race" foolishness going on as during the "Cold War". We all have to start acting as mature peoples and get rid of this " My daddy can beat up your daddy" thinking. If the political will is not there to start some type of initiative to do a clean up, the whole planet will go down the tubes & much sooner than we expect.

No at all. The list of technological advancements that have come about as a direct result of our space programs runs to pages and pages long. Just listing them! Some have argued that it may in fact be one of the most profitable government programs in human history.( Not meaning direct dollars going the gov't coffers. Meaning in terms of improving life for everyone.)

LOL!!! The space program is 0.5% of the Veterans Administration budget( that's a half of one percent), which is where it is housed.

Just ONE of those useless anti-aircraft missile systems costs 10 times the cost of the space program!

Tell you what--let's get rid of 90% of the military weapons budget, and keep the space program!

The space program has been responsible for the mass technology jump we have all enjoyed. If it is such a waste why are other countries now jumping on the band wagon?
