Absolutely No, its gonna be cheaper to hire a doorman than to depart with all of what you own, in alimony and proceedings.

No, that's not a valid reason for divorce. There might be other reasons though that make you feel it is! The two of you need to talk, and right away. There's more going on, than forgetting to lock the main door.....and contemplating divorce over it.

well that depends on which door is the main door. Now if its the door for your shed then you have no case. if its your sliding glass door then you might be able to get alamony
if its the front door to your house then you can file the divorce but i bet that you will get stuck with all your debts that you got since you were married
if its the back door your just screwed might as well just stay married and have an affair

No. Sounds like there are deeper issues, and the door locking becomes the trigger. It's amazing how people will not be honest with each other. Find out what is really bothering you or your partner.

Pick your battles, and decide if in fact this is the main issue or just the one you're focusing on to avoid the deeper problems. Lock the door yourself if this is the only thing wrong.

No.

The person who wants to divorce their partner just because of something that can be compromised gives up too easily. They shouldn't have gotten married in the first place.

Why do I get the feeling you're not talking about the door to the house? If you are, then if all you're looking for is some feeble excuse to divorce him, you might as well do it because his shoe came untied.

haha. I had to learn. I moved to the US from Canada, I really am used to not locking the door.

That should for the one who is getting the divorce to decide there must be other issues!

Surely, you could do something a little less drastic. Like, hang their underwear from a pole outside to alert her/him that they left the door unlocked again!!!
