The Celts had an oral tradition and the stories of Kings, Chieftains and Heroes were passed from generation to generation by bards. There are seven legendary High Kings (Ard Rí ) who ruled in Ireland in the second century:

Mal 107 A.D. -111 A.D
Fedlimid Rechtmar 111 A.D - 120 A.D.
Cathair Mor 120 A.D. - 123 A.D.
Conn Cétchathach (Conn of the Hundred Battles) 123 A.D. - 158 A.D.
Conaire 158 A.D. -166 A.D.
Art mac Cuinn 166 A.D. - 196 A.D.
