ok... i have a 95 dodge avenger im doing some work on for a good friend... he was saying that when he does a burnout it only leaves 1 tire mark... correct me if im wrong, but this is because the differential is slipping a lot ? so if i want to put down 2 tire marks, i would need a limited slip differential rite ?

where can i find one for a 95 avenger ?

thx a lot
mike

its supposed to leave only one tire mark its an open diff its not a posi unit and unless you know how to set up a diff i wouldn't touch it if i was you, you will do more harm then good. take it to a shop and have them put a posi in it if you really have to spin both wheels.

Limited Slip means if one tire is spinning it'll switch to another, thus limited slipping. Isn't the 95 avenger a front wheel drive setup?

all front wheel drive cars FF will do that, the tranny is on the lsft side, k? so there for none of the halfshafts are equal? its that, if you absolutely wanted to do it why? you cant, you can try to fix it by taking it to a profesional and get your tranny lined up, you can actually adjust it, please dont then you'll need a new tranny.. now why it does that is becuase the torque goes to one side more, therefor, more torque on one wheel, will cause it to spin, so finally one wheel spins, you will never be able to spin the ther untill you rock the car'? very hard, or stop the spin, once it spins you gotta stop it basically, now if you wanna spend tons of money at a pro, then why? burnouts aren't that important, spend that $100 and get a system!

Yep, all cars without a locking differential of some kind are only one wheel drive. the wheel with the least traction will spin, while the other does the work.
Type Trac-Loc in the search bar and see if you can find one.

You shouldn't do burnouts as they are destructive and noisy. This is another example of supposedly grown men acting like little boys, trying to make as big a fuss about themselves as possible. Who cares about the differential? Trash the car. The idea that anybody can own and operate an automobile capable of exceding the speed limit is absurd. If you want to cut back on traffic fatalities, reduce greenhouse gases, and eliminate police chases drop the maximum speed limit nationwide to 55 mph and outlaw any automobile capable of going faster than that limit.
