Is there something in hair color that makes hair fall out at the root? Even the no peroxide/no ammonia ones?

Before my baby was born, I used non-permanent color.
After my baby was born, I went back to using permanent color. It is almost like my fine hairs along my hairline get completely burned off...down to the skin...even the skin feels kind of sticky right after I color my hair. Obviously my hair looks like crap right now.
I just used NO peroxide, NO ammonia color, and the same thing happens!

Also, my hair is falling out by the thousands. I don't know if this is happening because I had a baby 8 months ago, or because of the cheap store-bought hair color, or because there is something wrong with me. Which doctors deal with this? Dermatologists???HELP!!!!!!

I know about hair falling out after a baby is born....is there a MILD hair color that makes hair look shiny that DOESN'T burn my hair off? I can't pay $150 per month to color my hair at a salon, sorry

It is easier to prevent the falling out of healthy hairs than to regrow hair in follicles that are already dormant. Finasteride (marketed in the U.S. as Propecia) and minoxidil (marketed in the U.S. as Rogaine, and some places as Regaine) have shown some success in partially reversing loss. In a one one-year study of finasteride, evaluation after one year showed five of 21 subjects (23.8%) had two-grade improvement in MNHS grade on a modified Norwood/Hamilton scale and 12 of 21 subjects (57.1%) had one-grade improvement; the others remained at the same grade.[6] However such treatments are generally ineffective at treating extreme cases of hair loss.[7]

It is usual to lose hair after having a baby. It should start growing back right away. If not, ask doctor if you may have a hormone imbalance. Perhaps you need a good multi-vitamin. My hair always grew back after each of 4 kids & was ok by 1 year of growth. Cairol is usually pretty mild. Good luck!

After I had my kids my hair fell out too. Having a baby does take quite a toll on your body. Make sure you are getting enough vitamins, eating healthy and getting enough rest. Stress also takes a toll. After about six months my hair finally started coming back. If you are really concerned, get checked out by your doctor to make sure its not a thyroid problem, or some other medical condition.

About 70% of women who experience thinning hair are anemic, even if just mildly anemic. I would get some over-the-counter Iron tablets, drink lots of water, and color your hair with Fanciful, just for the next few weeks. And no, you don't need a dermatologist visit, you can call your obstetrician who delivered your baby. He might tell you to continue taking your prenatal vitamins, especially if you are breastfeeding.
