I put some grass and hay in a jar, and a nylon on top, but I don't know what to feed it and I would love to c it become a butterfly in the spring...

Depends on the type of caterpillar's it is. Mostly leaves. Some types prefer only one type of leaf though. Do some research on the web.Hope that helps!

Leaves usually, nice fresh green ones. Preferably on a living plant.

awe ~ that's so cute. "catippaler" I don't think you should keep it in a jar. They usually find a tree or something to hang them-self in their cocoon. Then afterwards, they come out as a butterfly.
