You can connect 3 ways, dial up, dsl or adsl. you are on dial up and so using the modem in your computer. if you are moving to broadband. If you have a cable phone - probably you are best with dsl and you need a DSL modem that may connect to that router. That in turn to your PC. If you have a BT line then you use ADSL and you will probably have to get a modem/router - the ADSL modem is built in to the router. They will "talk to" the wireless card you have. You can then use a wizard in XP to set it up. Make sure you use an encryption key or all your neighbours will be helping themselves to your MP3s - especially if you live near me! lol maplin have all the bits you need. For ADSL you also need a filter thing that splits your phone and ADSL - that plug in your phone socket - that connects by an RJ11 cable to the modem/router - and the rest is wireless.

you need to get DSL or cable internet service.
As has been stated, dialup doesn't work with a router.

Once you have DSL or cable; connect the Ethernet cable from the modem to the WAN port on the router.
Once the router is properly connected, Windows XP should find the wireless connection and set it up for you.

You can't have dial-up and a router, you MUST have broadband (DSL, Cable) it WON'T work! I would get the better connection, or send it back...
