Its called World Trade Centre, is the 3rd film about 9/11, and there have been at least 2 TVC shows already, so I think the question of is it in bad taste has been argues alot already. Personally, and I say this as the media cynic student that I am, an hour after 9/11 I said I bet someone in Hollywood already has a script for a movie about this.
Don't need permission from families unless directly using their names and expirences, and not even then at times. Theres always a loophole when there's money to be made.
The justification is of course that its an 'honour' to be remembered and that by doing what the nation does best (making money!) we're fighting back against terrorism.
I'll probably avoid this film, bit thats just because of Nicolas Cage... if they'd cast Matt Damon I'd just go and enjoy the self righteousness of Hollywood as we all do every time we see an american movie.

Dude, its no longer accessible to anticipate that each and every and each and every action image might want to favor to be a fulfillment. U win some, u lose some. Even good ole Hollywood has had its percentage of "promising" flops like MI 3, person-friendly instinct 2, Superman Returns, Snakes on a airplane, and so on. the concern wid Indian cinema is that we've loadsa ppl like Mahesh Bhatt, who at the less expensive of no extra useful than 3 cr a action image, makes 6 -7 videos a twelve months, all caused from the outstanding type of DVD's he has at living house. What the viewer can do is "in basic terms no longer WATCH" such crappy videos and in basic terms purchase audio CD's if the songs are cool. This twelve months has been common even as in evaluation with very last twelve months yet then too thr were hits like Namaste London, Honeymoon Travels, Guru, Metro, Shootout at Lokhandwala, Cheeni ok-u-m between others. You cant have the diverse action image like those wer. no longer each and every action image is an Iqbal or a RDB. we would want to favor to understand and look ahead to greener pastures. There are outstanding videos coated as a lot as hit multiplexes interior the later component to this twelve months. And if u imagine of we dont have a way out, we do. look into JBJ. next time round YRF shall truly imagine of two cases earlier serving cr-ap to the visitors. So, in basic terms wait and see. there's a protracted thanks to come back to a call on for the twelve months to end. And btw Kenneth, even the "kisses" and "p*ssies" on the on the spot aren't any further waiting to furnish up ur videos from bombin on the sphere place of work, smarty.

I, too, was a bit perplexed when I heard about this film originally. I worried that it could be exploitative and painful to watch.
Actually, though, it turned out to be incredibly uplifting. The film tells one of the few *good* stories to have come out of that awful event. It follows what happened to 2 of the 20 people who were found *alive* after being buried in the collapse of one of the towers. It's their true story: the two cops involved consulted on the movie. They couldn't reach or even see each other--they were 20 feet apart, and both were pinned by rubble--but they could hear each other, and by talking to each other, they helped each other stay alive and not give up hope.
The film switches viewpoints from them, to their worried families and colleagues, to the rescuers who searched for and found them. It's wonderfully written, directed, and acted--a superb tribute to the strength of the human spirit. One of the best movies I've seen so far this year. I recommend it without reservation.

Not seen it - will not see it, bad taste in every way. It is hard enough for people to mourn the death of a loved one without Hollywood jumping in to make a penny or two. I had a hard time dealing with the actual event and the world wide fallout without this kind of s##t being thrown at us.
Good question - statement!!!! Let hope people don't go and it bombs at the box office!

It was alright. No hollywood crap, just plain fact. It tells the events from the viewpoint of two cops who were trapped in Tower 1 and were 2 of 20 people found in the rubble. I saw it in theaters but I don't think I'll ever buy it. It's one of those movies that I would only watch once.
