Contest will be judged and I need prize ideas for the person/group that wins. I can't come up with anything that isn't really common. The party-goers will be about 25-40ish years old.

* If your crowd drinks, a variety of those small shot bottles of alcohol. Sorta like party favors for grown ups.
* Populuar gag gifts of the time period of your music selection.
* Tickets to see an old school act- they're usually relatively inexpensive at the right venue.
* Gift cards/certificates.

Take a piece of 1inch thick hardwood, cut out 4x4 inch pieces, paint them with a primer to seal for painting. Get a bunch old microphones at thrift stores, junk stores, and see if you can find a party place or costume place that sells wax lips they may even sell big plastic microphones. Mold some paper mache' around the lips,and let it dry, then go to your craft store and get three small containers of enamel paint in bright blue, bright pink,and bright red. get three cans of metalic spray paint one bronze,one silver, and one gold. Either drill a hole in the base or somehow mount the microphones to the 4inch square bases. Once mounted spray one entire one bronze, spray another entire one silver, and spray another entire one gold. Then take the lips and the enamel paint, paint one lips blue, the next lips pink and the next red. then when they are dry they will still look shiny, adhere the blue lips slanted ,to the top of the bronze microphone, the Pink lips to the Silver microphone,and the red lips to the gold microphone. You now have three trophies, the bronze is third place and has blue lips cause they still have work to do on their act. The silver is second place and has pink lips cause they are getting warmer ,and almost had it together, and the gold is first place and has red lips cause they were in sync and red hot. You can make several of each level in case there is more than one person that wins each level, lilke a group will each have one to take home of their level. And so on.
