I'm so glad they did because I love that system. And I agree, they also had a few other good games, like Zelda, Bomberman, Bubble Bobble, Maniac Mansion, Tetris, etc...... But without Mario it probably wouldn't be as popular.

Yes it would haved survived cause it had great games like the Legend of Zelda, and plus back then when you bought an NES you got a free Robot

i don't think they would. because they may have had other great games like Zelda and such but they would not have survived long enough to make those games had it not been for Mario's initial success

My girfriend says no, as most of their games evolved (that word again) from Mario.

Yes, a mascot is nothing without great design and playability. Therefore, anything could be used as one.
