Unfortunately some in our party are leaning towards socialism and it is that wing, the Howard Dean/Hillary Clinton socialist types that dish it but can't take it.
Most of us are more balanced.
Just because you are a Republican doesn't mean you some crazy right-wing religious nut. More likely you are more towards the center.
Just because I am a Democrat doesn't mean I am like Howard or Hillary. I voted for Gore in 2000, but even I was smart enough to vote for Bush in 2004.
My theory is put the person in the Whitehouse who will keep me and my family safe. If I am dead from a terrorist nuke then I won't be around to worry about the less fortunate. First things first.

It's the same on both sides of the fence, you just hear it differently depending on where you look.
Libs don't mind looking stupid. They sport idiotic bumper-stickers on their cars, wear self-righteous T-shirts,and gather around public venues chanting idiotic phrases.
Cons, however, are more devious with their propaganda. They cater to church groups, youth groups, and insinuate their particular way of thinking into other other special interest groups.
F@#K them all! Vote Libertarian! Don't be confused by the name!
Libertarian doesn't mean liberal! It is a mind-set that equates freedom of self! Freedom from big government!
Libertarianism will give the government back to the people!

I could say the same thing about conservatives. They have the same inability to listen to other points of view and other ways of doing things with which they turn around and accuse liberals of having. As a liberal, I have no problem with listening to or reading things written by a conservative. Yet conservatives seem to have every problem doing the same for liberals. It makes no sense.
Fox News, for example, is a conservative news network. Rather than admit it, it hides behind "we report, you decide" and the "fair and balanced" mantra. The reason Fox News is successful is because it panders to a conservative audience which is obsessed with people who hold the same points of view as they do. And don't start with me about the other networks and their purported liberal bias. There are always two sides to every story, no matter who is in the reporter's chair. Except that the conservatives who watch Fox News and listen to Limbaugh and Hannity every day don't want to hear any opposing sides. Just because the news isn't always reported the way they want it to, they cry "liberal bias".

I don't know, maybe it's because conservatives are so illusioned in the way they think and see the world that it's not worthy of a respone by any true liberal.
