I enjoyed it up until the ending, when Stephen Spielburg put a happy ending on to it like he is doing to all his movies these days.
The ending is pointless, he doesn't explain how the son arrived at his mother's house or how they finally ended up at the ex-wife's anyway, it was very confusing ending for me.

I liked it! I do not normally like alien type movies but this one was quite good! The story alone is cool and it really digs up a sort of primal fear. This version had all the bells and whistles the effects were great, the sound was awesome and it was neither too short or too long. The acting was perfect Dakota Fanning is a darling, Tom Cruise (regardless of his antics off screen), was incredible. Personally I liked Tim Robbins character that was quite funny! Tim Robbins is always great!
Again, I really though I would not like it at all. It also seems like the reviews were not the greatest but I rarely listen to them and I find reviews are rarely accurate, for may taste anyhow!

I loved the movie, but was a little disappointed that it was so short. I think I wanted to see more details. I watched the original one, and I think the newer version could have been better if they had stuck to the original version. Just my take on the whole thing. TCM had the original one on a few months ago.

I was disappointed by the ending in that it was not the human race that was able to defend itself.
It seemed to be a co-out ending to me. I enjoyed the rest of the movie though.

Personally,,it was not a patch on the original movie ,,the book was better than both of the movies

Speacial effects were great. The story was a load of crap. I would give it 3 out of 5 stars

I thought it was painfully awful and I wanted to feed that little girl to the aliens in the first 15 minutes.

i was really looking forward to it coming to the flics. was very dissapointed.one of spielbergs worst ones yet

it starts well but at the end aliens die so ridiculous
