Totally if the boy just uses u and don't really like u. Then u as a girl be sacrificing doing anything for him and he still don't respond u nor thanks u. That is totally selfish.

True love isn't selfish because Love has no sense of ego. It is the only thing that grows the more you share it, in the way the light and brightness from a candle doesn't diminish even if you light a hundred other candles with it. Selfishness becomes an issue when the individual attaches themselves to their thoughts or actions and expects to be rewarded for them. Love is unconditional. It expects nothing from the recipient.

Yes and no. If the love is possesive, insecure and unhealthy- then the love can lead to selfishness. If it is true, mature wholesome love it will not be selfish since the person wanting to be selfish will control it due to the love they have for their significant other.
