I don't know the exact stats, but strictly guessing, I'd say no more than 5 percent....60 years is a long time, and death, divorce, etc. would certainly come into account in 60 years

I thought I would ! I was married for 41 years, 2 months and 10 days. And then it happened. My husband who was the original "Archie Bunker", met a Chinese woman and within one month (before he ever told me he wanted a divorce) he had asked her to marry him, they shopped for wedding rings and wedding dresses and she started calling herself by his/my last name,(she was in the middle of her second divorce at the time).
I went into SHOCK..we had NEVER talked about divorce or separating EVER. We had never even had a argument bad enough for either of us to ever bring it up. To top it all...he became MEAN ! He had never been mean to me before. So either he had been a great liar all these years or as my grown children think, "something just snapped inside him". He turned his back on the only family he has ever had and started a new life at 64. If you are wondering how I found all this out, I found 3 backup disks to his computer in an envelope with our financial information, withdrawl slips where he had withdrawn our savings and opened up a new account at HER bank, and information on an attorney that SHE chose for him. I left the house in the middle of the night while he was sleeping and had the disks copied. it was all on those disks, every last detail of their 1 1/2 month affair. He destroyed a 41 year marriage and the respect of his children and friends, who choose not to speak to him. What's worse is that he truely doesn't care. We are his "former life". The things that I read they did during the day ( while I worked full time so that he could get started in Real Estate) and how he lied, deceived and reading how the both of them conspired against me will haunt me for the rest of my life. And also the terrible lies he has made up to justify what he has done.
He was not just my husband, he was part of my soul.
ANYONE CARE TO ANALIZE THIS ONE ?

How many people live long enough to be married 60 years.
My mom and dad did. Some probably would but die younger or got married later.
How many people remain in love for their entire marriage?
