Black is an excellent block colour for making your body slimmer.

When wearing a trouser or jeans, try and buy one slightly longer and covering your shoe (not resting on the ankle), this will make you look taller and thinner. If you can iron a pleat in the middle of the trouser, this will define a thin line between your body.

Also when choosing tops, avoid bright and patterned tops as this often. Keep tops simple and not to elasticated. However avoid a puffy style top or jacket as this will make you look more round.

Keep your back posture straight, alot of people slough without even realising it, so shoulders back and show your figure.

Alot of celebrities have defined the oldest trick in the book, to make them look thin. A big handbag actually makes a body look, smaller and thinner just because people are likely more to stare at the bag than you, and gives the perception that you are small.

I am used to feet and pounds so I have no idea about what size you are :o) but a boot cut or slight flare jean will lengthen your legs and they just look great on most people.

Darker colors are always good too - brown, black, greys, etc -

Also - pencil skirts really have a slimming effect and fitted clothes that help accent your curves - wear belts to show off your waist or jackets that cinch the waist, etc. Careful with lines or stripes no matter which way they go as even if they go vertical and pull across or something -that can make you look wider so I would stay away from those.

Dont go for the overly loose stuff, it just makes you look heavier. Find something that fits you well, not too baggy, but not overly tight, either. Be brave and wear a knee-length skirt with some low heels, it plays up that you're working on loosing weight and think you look great already. This allows others to take another look at you, because you are obviously gaining confidence with your changing size. As its getting colder (here at least), work with long sleeves, 3/4 sleeves and the like.
I'm sure you're looking great already and allowing that confidence to shine through is the only real fashion tip you need. If you try something on and dont like it, move on to the next outfit until YOU think you look good. That's the key to confidence, pleasing yourself and knowing you look good to you. Oh, and SMILE! Nothing is prettier than a smile.

Have you considered having a session with a professional stylist/personal shopper? It could be well worth the charge to get advice about what will flatter you. If you go to a free lance stylist, rather than a personal shopper attached to a specific store she will advise you abut what stores carry clothes to suit you. You don't have to stick to black; colours can work. Don't forget hair & make up to suit the new, slimline you. Best of luck with the diet.

There is a large high street retailer that does a range of clothing for people who are concerned about certain areas of their body. They hold in some areas and lift others. In seconds you will look slimmer.

Good luck with the diet

You should wear darker colors. Not all of the time though because you still need to have a colorful selection. So try it if that doesn't work just remember that you are on a diet so you will start to look thinner anyways. Hope I helped. If not then sorry but I hope someone gives you the advice you want good luck.

I guess anything black! Obviously avoid horizontal stripes. It is probably all in your mind, if youre just looking for less 'full' it sounds like you're not particularly chubby. I have a pot belly which is emphasised by any tight tops or dresses so tend to wear 2 pieces.

Get clothes that fit around your body shape properly, go for longer tops rather than short ones that your belly sticks out of. Go for vertical stripes they will make you look taller. Draw attention away from your "fat"places by highlighting other areas ie, your long legs or big bust or sparkly eyes.

As long as it fits you well, it will make you look thinner. If you dress in super tight or baggy clothes, it won't look good and it will just make you look bigger.

Invest in clothes that fit you well and fit right and I guarantee that you will look 100% better. People say that black makes you look slimmer. That may be true, but if its black and doesn't fit right, it will make you look bigger and horrible.

Tip- Don't buy horizontal stripes in opposite colors because they do make you look wider. Buy stripes that are close in color.

Don't buy all black either because then you will look depressing. Some people may say it makes you look slimmer, but who wants an all black wardrobe. Get quality clothes that fit properly and that you like and you will look awesome.

Best Luck!
