Actually, to Hoppo, Klingon is in fact a real language, and was recently recognized as an actual language by the Smithsonian.
As to how did they test the transporters, although I don't have the whole lowdown, it's likely they used test modules, which are geometric shapes (polygons, cubes, cylinders, etc.) whose surfaces are finely etched, to the molecular level, and which display a kind of moire pattern to the eye. If any subatomic misalignment occurs during transport, the object's surface will appear black after rematerialization. Later, artificial intelligence droids were probably used in place of animal testing.

Hi Doug. To coin a phrase made (in)famous and popular by the great John McInroe ... you can NOT be serious?! :)

I love Star Trek and have done since it was first shown over here in the UK in 1969 but sorry to disillusion but it's not real. Whilst many of the then fictional "technology" has since come to pass (communicators - mobile phones; needle-less injections and so on), the transporters were totally fictional and all done with special effects. However there are experiments being done at the moment and they have successfully transferred certain atoms from one place to another and I read that this COULD lead to objects and even perhaps people in the future. Whether or not that holds true remains to be seen but please rest assured nobody has died so no need to test it other than to make sure the special effects looked as realistic as they could. :)

It's science FICTION. MIcroscopic details aren't gonna be there. Some things you have to write off as "okay, it's just a show." I say this with all due respect to you. I am a big fan of Star Trek and was a major Trekkie for awhile there. (Went to conventions but didn't wear uniforms...) B-)
Part of what makes ST great is how believable it is and how real the science fiction appears to be. They have gone to great links to do so. However, it's STILL FICTION.

Doug, you really REALLY need to get out more my friend. If you put the mouse down and venture outside you'll find the real world, its kind of like the star trek game but with better graphics, out there you will find these strange and mysterious creatures - they're called girls. Go out and hook up with one (pay if you have to - and im pretty much guessing you will have to pay) and empty your nutsack, you may then realise that its just an image on the idiot box in the corner and there are more pressing things to worry about.

People are dying of hunger and you're taxing your brain over a sci-fi programme, i give in, i really do.

none, they used animals. that was the last part of 21st century living to be eradicated in the 23rd century. the vulcans were shocked when a mix of gorilla and man appeared one time and they called it ' KILINGON', vulcan for 'holy **** look at the size of that.
