I thought my ribs were going to explode with my frist daughter. Come to find out everything inside your abdomen has to go somewhere and the only place for it to go to accommodate your growing baby is up! Sounds totally normal, and while it's uncomfortable, you might want to get used to it because everything in there has no where else to go. Just focus on the fact that in the end you'll be holding your beautiful baby. Good luck and trying laying in different positions, sometimes that will alleviate some of the pain and pressure you're feeling.

I have been having the same pain in my right ribs, I'm 28 weeks. I was told it could be one of many things by my OB. First you want them to check to make sure you don't have anymore signs of Preclampsia.(Pain in the right ribs and back are one sign of Pre E) 2nd they would need to test you to see if you have something wrong with your Gal Bladder. Could be an infection or even Gal stones.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!!

Most likely it is just the baby. Your ligaments have softened and you are going to feel alot more aches and pains in your muscles, ligaments and joints as they soften and stretch. If you find you are havin pain in your back, off to the side abit, aways above your hip bones, get checked for a kidney infection. But where you describe the pain seems normal.

It could be your gallbladder. I was 7 months pregnant and was having pain like you are describing and when I went to the hospital b/c I thought I was in labor they found out it was my gallbladder. I hurt really bad in my ribs and back. Nothing made it better. They won't really do anything about it either b/c they do not like to do surgery when you are preg. but they did give me a script for darvocet and made me cut out all fatty fried foods (that's what makes your gallbladder act up)

I experienced the same thing with my first pregnancy and am with this one as well. I think it's because of your uterus and the baby growing pushing all the other organs up. If you think about it, it really makes everything cramped in there.

RIGHT NOW YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE SOME STRANGE ACHES AND PAINS DUE TO PREGNANCY. THE BABY IS GETTING BIGGER AND IT PRESSES ON THINGS INSIDE. SOMETIMES GAS GETS IN THERE ALSO.
