Your body does not really have side effects. Rather it goes through a process of healing and regulating. You may find that for a year or two after the depo you get irregular periods and have trouble with infertility. These side effects are less with the pill. If you are coming off of depo...good! The less time on it the better. I have seen very few people that have not had complications from it.

I was a complete idiot and took the Depo shot for almost five years straight. When I married in 2001, my husband and I decided that I would stop them so that we could try to have a baby. I don't necessarily remember any "effects" I had coming off of the shot except for the ones I experienced while on it. I had to deal with irregular periods and infertility for almost five years after coming off of it. At the beginning of this year, I finally started having regular periods on my own with no induction meds or ovulation inducing meds. I'm finally pregnant...our baby will be here around April 13th!

All people are different hunny.
I was on DEPO for over a year and had no problems at all. It was the same when i came off a few months ago.
I had no side effects but did have to wait 2 months before my periods started up again.

DEPO----I HATE THAT F**** SHOT!!! DONT GET IT !! LOL. I WAS ON IT FOR 2 YRS AND IT WAS LIKE A THE BIGGEST MISTAKE. SIDE EFFECTS...WEIGHT GAIN SERIOUSLY...BC IS SUPPOSE TO MAKE U GAIN A LITTLE , BUT THIS **** MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU NEED TO EAT FOR A FAMILY OF 7. THE FIRST WEEK ... I CRIED THE ENTIRE TIME. MY FIANCE DIDNT KNOW WHAT THE HELL WAS WRONG. THEN ...EVERYTIME I GO BACK TO GET THE NEXT ONE...THAT WEEK AFTER WOULD BE HELL. I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER NOW THAT I AM OFF. WHEN YOU COME OFF OF IT..YOU DEF NOTICE THAT YOUR BODY IS WANTING THAT SHOT. AND I LOST MY CRAVING SO BAD. I USED TO LOVE MEXICAN FOOD , I HATE IT. IT DOES SUCK COMING OFF THE SHOT BECUASE I FELT LIKE SOMETHING WAS MISSING. I KEPT TELLING MY SELF, I NEED MY DEPO SHOT. AFTER YOU DROP THE SHOT , YOU WILL DROP A FEW POUNDS. I LOST 16

I'M OFF DEPO NOW-JUST CAME OFF. IF YOU GO TO THE WEBSITE, IT WILL TELL YOU THAT YOU CAN GO THRU DEPRESSION AND STUFF. ALSO SAYS THAT YOU CAN BE INFERTILE FOR A LONG TIME(6-18MNTHS). I THINK THAT I AM PREGNANT NOW-ONLY HAD 1 SHOT.
