Try mixing Sulphuric Acid and Sugar in a acid resistant container that is cylindrical and you will get a pillar of almost pure carbon
That or you can mix liquid ammonia with nitric acid, forming ammonium nitrate which you can mix with oil to create a powerful explosive

put some warm caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) solution in a bottle. Feed in strips of aluminium foil. Reaction gives off hydrogen. Place a balloon over the top of the bottle - ballon fills with hydrogen. Tie off the ballon.
Get one of those birthday candles that re-light when blown out - strip off the wax to leave the wick. Fold into a L shape and tape to the top of the balloon. Light the wick and let the balloon float off. After a minute or so, the ballon will explode 100s ft up in the air.

Pour some strong bleach and vinegar into a metal bucket (outside!!) Throw in a rock of Calcium Carbide. (Chlorine and Ethylene spontaneously combust) Foul smelling oily flames flare out of bucket

take a metallic can, put some water in it with ammonium nitrate, put some water on a piece of wood and the can on the water, stir the ammonium nitrate, and the water below the can will turn into ice and make the can stick to the wood
