One cell co I was with charged me $39 a month but added on like $39 of taxes, fees and charges. Does Verizon do this?

What happened to Verizon can happen to you at any company. Just be careful and make sure you keep the copy of your contract so you can see each of the charges itemized.

go to http://www.verizonwireless.com/plans and see if they cover your area.
America's choice plan with the most minutes is 6000 minutes for $199 and $0.20 each additional minute and the lowest plan is 450 minutes for $39.99 and $0.45 each additional minute. There fees and taxes in addition to those rates but it will not be another $39
